Curiousity Killed the cat!!

Любопытство погубило кошку. Смысл: любопытство до добра не доведет.

Любопытной Варваре на базаре нос оторвали

I did enjoy it as it is suggested in the title of the branch

Pie in the Sky

used to portray or refer to something that is lovely to consider however is probably not going to happen
a promise of paradise while enduring suffering in life

Dreaming about to move to Canada and own a luxurious house, it’s more like a pie in the sky.
It’s a pie in the sky to think about winning the race with this old car.

It used to be..... And what is the highlight of your day now?

Cooking it for myself! Actually, it was only an example.

Highlight of the Program

The highlights of an event, activity, or period of time are the most interesting or exciting parts of it.

...a match that is likely to prove one of the highlights of the tournament.

The highlight of my day used to be cooking my wife a meal when she came in from work.

Can this expression be used if the wolf is not ony the absence of money?

Maybe, but I don't know other meanings of this expression.

Keep the wolf from the door

to have sufficient money to prevent starvation or hunger

Both the man and his wife must work long hours just to keep the wolf from the door.
She can barely keep the wolf from the door with the help of such a small shop in town.

Can this expression be used if the wolf is not ony the absence of money?

unable to recognize obvious or bad things.

The search for the missing children will continue at first light.
We have to leave at first light if we want to make it to the other side of the mountain by midday.

True, womens' bags sometimes become 'black holes'. My table in the language laboratory also turns into one from time to time, therefore I try to keep it tidy.

     Please, keep tryng!

Black Hole

a place in which things are lost never to be seen again

My handbag is a black hole. You can try and find the keys in there but I can’t promise anything.
