Gone with the Wind
Text 1
Scarlett O'Hara was not beautiful, but men didn't understand it. They liked her very much.
She was sitting in the company of two boys, the twins, nineteen years old, tall and long legged, their eyes merry and arrogant.
The twins' horses were nearby, big animals, red as their masters' hair. And around the horses' legs quarrelled the pack of nervous hounds that accompanied the twins wherever they went.
A little aloof lay a black spotted dog, patiently waiting for the boys to go home to supper.

It was dark in the library. The room was filled with dark books and it depressed Scarlett. She started to think it wasn’t the right place for her serious talk with Ashley.
She closed the door and tried to make her heart beat more slowly. Scarlett tried to think of what she had planned to tell him, but she couldn’t remember anything. All she could think of was that she loved everything in him – from his golden hair to his dark boots. He had to love her, too!

“Ah, Scarlett!” said Ashley, opening the door and looking at her with a smile “What are you doing here?
“Ashley, I’ve got a secret to tell you”
“What is it?” he asked. “A secret to tell me?”
“Yes – a secret. I love you.”
