     A very important thing about asking favors of people is how you ask, what intonation you use. When it seems likely that the other person will refuse, the question can be phrased so that the refuse does non cause embarassment.

I can recall we discussed this point once, along with using 'certainly' instead of 'of course'.

Lemmings have become the subject of a widely popular misconception that they commit mass suicide when they migrate by jumping off cliffs. It is in fact not a mass suicide but the result of their migratory behavior. Driven by strong biological urges, some species of lemmings may migrate in large groups when population density becomes too great.
