Meaning: used before a statement to make it clear that one doesn't want to upset or hurt you

-No offense, but you look terrible!
-None taken! (a good response when you want to show that you are not offended by the statement)

Meaning: to feel sorry about something that has already happened; used to emphasize that it is not helpful

Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

Meaning: you should value the property you already have instead of dreaming of things that you cannot afford or achieve.

I was sure the stockmarket was going to decrease, although other investors were thinking in the opposite way. So I decided to sell all my stocks in order to save my cash. Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, really.

Meaning: to refuse noticing something

I knew he broke the printer but I decided to turn a blind eye, without saying anything. The toner of that printer was gone anyway. So, that's not a problem.
