В течении трех месяцев (23 июня — 29 августа 1944 г.) Белорусская армия была под игом врага. Оккупанты разграбили территорию республики: были разорены города, сожжено более миллиона строений в сельской местности, обращено в руины 7 тысяч школ.
Гитлеровцы уничтожили более 2-х миллионов военнопленных и мирных жителей. Это была одна из самых пострадавших территорий союза. Но люди не пали духом, и оказывали сопротивление.
Беларусь была полностью очищена от гитлеровцев в результате двухмесячного наступления красной армии.

Фрида и Ян персонажи книги Экерслэя "Essential English"ю Мы видим их с другими учениками во всём учебнике разговаривая, рассказывая шутки, читая истории, которые они пишут сами, поют песни или разыгрывая короткие сценки.
Мы здесь, на станции с которой Фрида и Ян оправляются в Швейцарию. Никто из студентов ещё не был там, так что мы можем оглядеть станцию и увидеть насыщенную жизнь, которая царит вокруг. Тут много платформ (семнадцать) с которых поезда отправляются и на которые приезжают. Поезд Фриды отправляется с платформы № 2, так что давайте пойдём в этом направлении. Это билетная касса в которой вы можете купить билет для своего путешествия. Давайте посмотрим как пассажир купит билет.
--студент: Я хочу билет в Брайтон, второй класс, пожалуйста.
--кассир: В одну сторону или обе?
--студент: В обе стороны, пожалуйста.
--кассир: Второй класс, в обе стороны, Брайтон. Два фунта, пожалуйста.
--студент: Не могли бы вы сказать мне время, когда отправляется следующий поезд?
--кассир: В 8:55, вторая платформа. Если вы поторопитесь, то можете успеть на него.
--студент: Спасибо! (Он убегает в спешке).
